DISPLACED – this piece was originally written with Syrian refugees in mind, but in 2018 after the death of my mother, I made a new version, which I played at her funeral. It’s that new version recorded here:

ARISING – the Buddha’s teaching on Dependent Arising:
“this being, that becomes; from the arising of this, that arises; this not being, that does not become; from the ceasing of this, that ceases.”
GOGO-AN – composed after my visit to Japan, where I visited Ryokan’s hermitage in the forest on Mount Kugami.
